I just got Parade almost purely off of the merit of the live versions of Do you Lie? and Under the Cherry Moon. In the live versions he does beautiful things with the melodies, but on the album they suck! I hate the way he says "Die in your arms under the cherry moon" on the album. The live verison (from the Parade tour) was SOOO much better. I'm a little disappointed, but I'm sure it'sll grow on me like Dirty Mind, Around the World in a Day and Planet Earth, and all the others I have.

Best Prince album.

SOTT sounds like it was recorded in a toilet or something. It's almost unlistenable now. I have to turn my MP4 up twice as loud to hear it compared to TGE and Parade.

Not a bad song on that CD. Parade will forever be my album.

Between this and Around the world are the 2 Prince CD's that take me elsewhere. I really feel these are more of an experience than the normal "here are some songs" I love the line up and song selection. If only 'love or money' were included
that is my sole disappointment. The version I have is 'normal vocal' version Camille is no where to be found

One of my Prince favs from the 80's.

i just got this to and i really love it, its quite different from his other albums but is ace i cant stop lissoning to it theres some ace songs on there there maybe you need to lisson more!!!

When I first got Parade I did not like it.

I listened to it alot...it definately grew on me and is now my fave.

Love this album. Wish he'd do more tunes with that "French" sound... not sure how else to describe it.

I like "Kiss"... but it really doesn't fit into this album for me.

And take your time. Most Prince fans were a bit shocked about Around The World and Parade, as he shifted his musical focus so extremely.

But to most fans, this only widened their own musical focus and most learned to love this album.

Listen to the layered violins on some of the songs; you can trip on this album, promise.

I've read that Prince was dissapointed with it too. I like it myself.
