we all know that he loves money.

So why didnt he release a dvd of the musicology tour? or one of the o2 concerts??

it wouldnt of cost him much and made him alot of money!

he never releasing anything, apart from two heavily edited concerts from 1999/2002.

Yeah, I think it's a pity, especially when you look at the live DVDs that he has released and the possible concerts that he could have released!!! Makes you think of missed opportunities.

I like the Live at the Alladin dvd, even though it's badly edited official one

He owns the rights to Musicology (the CD), and just made a distribution deal w/Sony to release it. He could do the same with a show from that tour or from O2. He might have to pay some publishing $$ for some of the older songs and maybe a small percentage to a distributor, but he'd still get to keep most of the money after expenses.

This is also a good way to stop bootlegging--release an official version for sale and that takes away demand for bootleg copies.

Rave and Aladdin are good, but both have their flaws (Aladdin in particular is terrible in terms of picture quality). It really does dumbfound me why he hasn't released a Musicology or Earth tour DVD yet. Can you imagine if he released a Musicology DVD for Christmas 2004? Now that would have shifted some major units!!

My own theory on why he doesn't release many DVDs is that he wants people to still be surprised when they come to a concert... like a 'less is more' kind of philosophy. He doesn't like to give away his secrets. Perhaps the same reason why he doesn't release many live albums either?

Agree!!
If we look at the succes of Music dvd's these days,
I don't understand why he doesn't do it!
It also keeps an artist in the picture when a DVD sells well,
look at how U2 does it with some great concert releases(from what I heard!)

A Hits-DVD would be nice 2 and I don't mean
that short,incomplete one we got in the 90's
