Out of that entire album I only really love Alphabet st. When 2 r in Love is pretty good, Glam Slam is too corny for my liking, Anna Stesia is average and the other tracks are sluggishly forgettable. I could never get into that album, but my opinion could change of course.

Lovesexy was considered by P as a single.
He even made a new remix for radio.

A.Street was the perfect 1st single. Anna St. should have followed as a second single. As a matter of fact, it was being played on many US radio stations and in one major US market it was one of the most heavily played songs for some time. I remember reading in Billboard that if it had been released as a single it would have easily broken into top100 based on the airplay. And this was without no push and no promo. Third single should have been Dance on. So many of my friends that really didnĀ“t care for Prince, in general, really liked that song! It's catchy and original!

There are no great US pop singles on that entire album, that's why it was so dead here in '88.

"Alphabet St." was the right choice for the first single.I think Prince screwed up with the second single."Glam Slam" is a good album track, but it was the too boring for pop radio.I can see why it flopped as a single.

These should have been the singles,in this order...

"Alphabet St"
"Lovesexy"
"When 2 R In Love" (woulda been a huge hit on R&B radio)

I agree with you completely on this.

So do I!!!!
