Which of the 'good' albums are your least favourites? I don't really know how to put them into categories or whatever, but I'm talking of the albums people rate highly.
For me so far I never really could get into Lovesexy. I find it hard to listen to the whole CD in one sitting. Also the back-end of Diamonds and Pearls. I don't like the raps by Tony M and Rosie Gaines can be overbearing. [Edited 3/18/08 22:04pm]

Purple Rain. Don't get me wrong, I. LOVE. THIS. ALBUM. But some people trip out over it like its the second coming. Maybe mostly non fans.
I appreciate it, but it doesn't have that...oomph that some others do to me.

I appreciate it, but it doesn't have that...oomph that some others do to me. Purple Rain is at least top 3 Prince albums. It's put together so well, all of the tracks flow and each is memorable and hooky. I think it has heaps of oomph, Parade is less energetic, but it's still right up there.

For me clearly parade.
I love "Girls & Boys", "Sometimes it snows in april", "Anotherloverholenyohead" and some other songs, but there are also "I Wonder U", "Christopher Tracys Parade", "Do U Lie?", "Life Can Be So Nice" and others that I donĀ“t like that much. See the man with the blue guitar, maybe one day he`ll be a star...

If Diamonds And Pearls counts (surely not!) then that one, otherwise, definitely SOTT. Bought it the day it came out, have never warmed to it that much.

SOTT. yeah i said it!
I skip quite a lot of it, Preffered Dream Factory's configuration personally.

I skip quite a lot of it, Preffered Dream Factory's configuration personally. I agree totally with that. Slow Love, Hot Thing, Forever In My Life, It's Gonna Be A Beautiful Night and Adore just don't do it for me at all. And the Dream Factory version of Strange Relationship urinates on the Sign O The Times version from a great height.

It's difficult to rank on album versus another, because for me, one album leads to another.
The artist builds on an album, or idea. So i have to think back to the impact it had on me the first time I listned to it. So even thought I would like to push 'purple rain' to the side. I can't ,its too good even though I listened to it so much, I ruined it from my ears. But 'Computer Blue' is an Amazing song. It contains everything that P does best. Its like a micro universe of Prince. The peak being the Piano part from 'Father's song' echoed closely by the Guitar solo. I still feel the power of it ! So ,for Me, it stands the test of time. Here are my Choices based on how often to listen, or desire to listen. So I'll give Purple rain a Roger Maris/Barry Bonds(*) Favorites & Song 1-Purple Rain* - Computer Blue 2-Sign of the Times- The Ballad of Dorthy Parker or Rebirth of the Flesh 3-Parade- Sometimes it snows in April. 4-ATWIAD - Paisley Park 5-Rainbow Children -everlasting now Lest Fav 1-For you 2-Dirty Mind 3-'Prince' 4-Lovesexy 5-Batman

Gotta totally agree with Lovesexy, vastly overrated in my books. I find the rainbow children much more musically interested, and less noisy and cluttered. Both D and P and the Symbol records could be nice do overs also, not sure if they are considered "good" Prince records, likely, but not classics merf

Squirrels favourites....
1. SOTT 2. The Gold Experience 3. Lovesexy 4. Parade 5. Symbol 6. Around The World In A Day 7. Musicology 8. Controversy 9. The Rainbow Children 10. Chaos & Disorder .

Honestly the is my least fav and folks say it is good. That was the first Prince TAPE I bought and could not sit thru. Even GB had several classics I enjoy (the movie might be the worst I have ever seen). But I can't name 3 songs off that symbol album
