For some reason, I think that Prince has denied since the mid nineties the influence of The Rolling Stones. Now granted, I am not saying that they were ever a very huge influence on his music. However, I have seen Prince in concert sometimes looking a lot like Jagger did onstage in the early '70s. And even though Jagger was basically influenced by James Brown's moves on stage, just as Prince was, I have seen moments when Prince looked more Jagger on stage rather than like James himself.

Perhaps this denial was due to the Stones' continued downslide artistically after the '70s and the group basically becoming a punchline for many due to still performing at their age when they probably should have hung it up long ago.
