of the ones you suggested I would say either 1999 or Parade. But I would recommend For You. You don't seem to have any of his earliest work and For You would be a good starting point...considering it was his first album.

man, that was the first five prince albums i got in that same order! the next album i bought was gold experience and then emancipation then parade but i would suggest u buy rainbow children! hope that helps

1999 is also a great album. very funky and long tracks. Sounds very experimental. a must have !!

I would get AROUND THE WORLD IN A DAY, but that's only because it's my personal favorite. I really can't say which would be best for you. However, you can rent "Under the Cherry Moon" for a couple of bucks to audition PARADE and you won't have to shell out more dough if it's not the right one for you.

Yeah GOLD has everything on it u could want..funk,rock,blues,2 of the sexiest Prince songs ever in " H8 U" & "Shhh" & then jams like "Endorphinmachine" & "p Control",& we can't 4get "TMBGITW"
The closing track "Gold" almost has me in tears,the raw emotion of that song is so underrated,when it kicks in at the b-section of the 2nd verse,just makes me wanna punch the air & go insane,such a beautiful msg in the song.
U got2 buy "TheGoldExperience" foxy,i hope u do,post here when u have heard it,i'd love 2 hear a new fan's reaction 2 such a brilliant masterpice.
I have only been a fan for 3 years,so i know what it's like,i held off from buying "1999" 4 a long time,& i was so happy when i did,took me ahwile 2 really get in2 it,but it was worth the wait.

Purple Rain
Gold
SOTT (this cd really is in dire need of a remaster,i usually play the SOTT tour rehearsal bootleg i have,in SoundBoard quality,since the sound is much better,7 being raw performances helps 2 )

Out of the choices you brought out, I would suggest 1999 be your next album. He hit a new high with that one. After that, I'd recommend Parade
