[Edited 3/13/08 6:06am] There has been rumour that he may have done a deal and got them back, but I don't believe it for a minute. Prince would be telling everyone, and getting the stuff released through NPG. Roll on 2022.....Sign o the times remastered! I agree with you on this IF infact he already OWNED them then I/we/man of us would of saw the other albums remastered as well(that is what I thought when he redid 1999 or the one song) I had no idea he did that from memory(if that was his memory he has a crappy one IMHO, it sounded like shyt) Smurf theme song-seriously how many fucking "La Las" can u fit into a dam song

He may be in possession of the masters, but not be the owner of them. So he can play around with them as much as he likes, but he can't release anything without the owners say so. With 1999, he may have made it from scratch, but my guess is he simply used a few of the old backing tapes in the process. . | |

I listen to everything that I can purchase at a store...I have heard of several re-mixes out there...and never actually heard them...I have seen someone that owns things I never knew existed...and never heard those either...
