Prince Guitars

Is there anywhere I can buy a Hohner Telecaster TE (or any), the Cloud Guitar or the love symbol guitar? I know they're rare, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. I'd kill to be able to play one lol

lol I was just playing.

That's what I've been doing all day. I can probably recite every feature and technical detail of the guitar by now, but it hasn't got me any closer to buying one.

I'm thinking that they pop up on the UK Ebay from time to time.

There's one on Ebay right now. The buyer is asking $2000, which is a little out of my price range (just a tiny bit wink ). I'm going to pass on this one, but I sincerely hope there are enough out there to make me not regret this decision.

From what I remeber of that thread a new 1 won't cost that much. But! It's totally standard. This 1's had work done & has the Fender type head! The new 1 doesn't! U might need 2 get in touch with Hohner & find out who the retailer in your area is!

lurking

I paid 3,500$ for my bass lol
Interestingly though, if I lived in the States, I'm sure I'd be able to get one somewhere at half that price. They just get really expensive when they get hauled over to Europe for selling, apparently wink

The new Hohner that is closest to Prince's is $2500.00 retail. The "Artist" reissue is about $850.00 retail.

www.westmusic.com <--- Call them, that's where I ordered mine they are a big Hohner dealer and ship all over.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.

There were no Symbol guitars available for consumers. Some folks/fans have made seemingly outstanding replicas and then sold them to the general public.

I did see a beautiful candy red Symbol that was made for Prince and sold on eBay, but I haven't seen any others that Prince commissioned come up for sale.

I think you can still purchase a Prince-spec Auerswald through their dealers.

Schecter Clouds in Blue and White, bolt-on and neck-through, symbol fret and dot fret markings, are not sold new anymore. Many that re-sell privately are in new, unplayed condition. Schecter did sell some blemished Clouds from the back door. These would have small paint nicks on the neck/fretboard edge.

There are Japanese ESP knock-offs of the Clouds that probably sound good, but look real goofy.

There are all kinds of Hohners that came out over the years capitalizing on Prince's use of their git-fiddle, but none have really come close to looking like his Frankenhohner. These Hohners used to be cheap copies of Tele's. Now they want $2500 for a new copy of a copy of a copy. That's crazy talk.
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
