THE WAR-information please-this is a toughie

one of my fave jams

its incredible and how it was recorded i find incredible

what im curious was what date it was recorded

what was the set list from the paisley party that night(i understand almost everyone had left by the time he started jamming on it)

and the half a dozen people that stayed and werent tempted by the saturday morning cartoons-anyone of em orgers??

It was recorded at Paisley Park, early morning of the 20th June 1998. Personel would be something like this: Kirky J (drums), Mike Scott (guitar), Rhonda (bass) and Morris Hayes (keys). However there are lots of overdubs and edits, so it's not entirely a pure live recording.

I think there's more info about it in The Vault book, but I don't have access to my copy at the moment. I'll get back to you (unless someone beats me to it!)

It is indeed a live recording from Paisley Park. The entire track is 42 minutes, but the released version is 25 minutes. The set list is as follows:

The One
One Of Us
You're Still The One
The Christ
The War (played after the party)
