What was the name of the song that Lisa and Wendy gave prince to listen to in the movie "Purple Rain"? The song was later morphed into full-fledged "Purple Rain".

It was only music...as far as the audience knows.

I believe it was "Father's Song". I could be wrong.

You can hear it in the superbowl performance--it's the same tune, just on piano in the background.


The chord progression style that's actually played in the actual album version and what you see in the over-the-top hilarious final scene of the movie confuses me why it was so different from the song you hear on tape.
