You were the one who posted a picture of Prince's ass on this thread. Remember the picture (yellow lace outfit)? That's not related to the topic on hand, is it?

Yep that would be squirrel.
[Edited 3/29/08 21:31pm]

You keep trying to throw mud at people without getting your facts right. The thread is right here to read. Dayclear started the picture posting on here back at page two.

By Page 4, the ass droolers were already talking down their own tangent, ignoring the purpose of the thread. To prove a point, I posted the most stereotypical prince ass picture. Guess what happened? More drool.

And I think you were the first to comment! Say it all.

So don't worry, apology accepted.

Actually I'm completely behind Squirrel on this. Prince to me is primarily about the music. He wouldn't hold my attention for long if he were a sculptor or some such other type. So why the heck doesn't the Org have an area setup specifically for his music? Keep one for pictures and fan art and one for his music. It makes sense and in not doing so it projects the Org as possibly not a serious portal for those of us into Prince.

I mean it's all very well being all girly and swooning over photos of him from the 80s but one has to ask could it not offer just a little more maturity? By that I don't mean to remove the feminine side to this site, just to separate it a little from those of us wanting some focus on the musical aspect of Prince without having to wade (or be subjected to) constant threads on Prince in different hues and shades.

I agree with squirrel i was thinkin this the other day, so many post jackers and so many emoticons being used instead of intelligent discussion. I noticed a lack of movement in the artists forums as well they are very static. Where have all the fans gone?

Come back all you 02orgers we had some fun times in here during last summer. This time last year there was a real buzz of excitement and plenty of discussion both fun threads and serious ones.

mpgmc used to be like that - so vibrant all the time.

Theres a new concert looming and yet there doesnt seem to be a buzz yet. Perhaps the lack of an official site and therefore something new to discuss is the reason. Hence the org is full of students posting daft pics and rude comments about each other.

Even imagos gone stale where are the funny story theads, yeah crass but they were entertaining and some of you guys are so funny you should write comdey for a living.

Thers nothing wrong with startin a thread about something we have discussed before as there are so many new fans in here, you will get a fresh input and viewpoint.

So squirrel start the ball rolling, and post an intelligent, interesting thread for us all.

I will try and think of one

An emancipation thread could be a good start as theres so much music to discuss

or a favourite concert memories thread

Lets here from you guys who got to vegas or musicology etc

Ya know, outside in the "real world", people tease me and call me "fanatic".

-It pisses me off when people say I like the color purple "because of Prince". (Actually, no. It's been my fave since I was a little girl; I discovered him in college.)
- I get annoyed when people say "U're so in love with him!" (Again, confused Has anyone ever heard of music?!)
- Yes, I try to attend every show I can- but that's because being with other Prince fans is one big party! biggrin
- And my collection is big. I love music. (But I have a lot of other things, too.)

But on here, I found out that I'm not the only one. I haven't seen as many shows, I haven't done as many "fammy" things, I don't obsess as much.
prince.org is fun. Now, it's become something to get me thru my recovery.

Hey chocolate

I agree with the fun side, but its staled off a bit recently.

I too like to visit the org in times of difficulty as there are so many bright happy people i here and i guess we tend to all get along because we share a taste in music.

Im hoping to visit often during my treatment to keep me laughing.

Speedy recovery!

Oh yes, I do remember.

Yeah, "General Discussion" does have the neediness U speak of. It's like a clique, with everyone vying 4 attention. A couple of women there absolutely need it, then get it from the fellas.

I hate popularity contests.

Anyway, my dear, I think the current state is because of Prince's popularity increasing around 2004, through major media events... the Grammy performance with Beyonce', Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, etc.

I don't think it has anything 2 do with the NPGMC closing down, as some suggest here. It seems 2 me that the most of us were both ORG and NPGMC members. Some here speak ill of Housequake, but I've been a member there 4 a while 2.

But even if the NPGMC had some members that weren't ORG members, which would've been a small percentage, I very much doubt that they joined the ORG and caused the mess we see these days. That's just not true. It is much more likely caused by the increase in Prince awareness/popularity in 2004. It was great 4 us old schoolers 2 see Prince get the props and the exposure, and such, but there is a down side as well.

PEACE.

Thats what I meant to say when I started the thread. I don't think picture threads should stop. Everyone to there own. But its the volume that was/is killing the diversity of the forum.

I don't think anyone should have the right to say what should or should not be spoken about, but I foolishly hoped that self regulation would continue to exist. The more recent mass posters seem to lack that ability.

I admit that I do not know a lot about Prince - I rely on the long-timers here and my own research for that.

I certainly read the informational threads or music-related threads eventhough I don't post because I have nothing to contribute at that point, but I still love to read your experiences and knowledge.

I also love to look at Prince's pictures (can't help myself) and I certainly coment on those. lol

All Orgers should have the right to post what they want as long as it is not improper, hateful or degrading.

It's fun to read both the educational and funny, dreamy threads. That's what life is all about -- balance.

I know we normally get a lull in good conversation after a Prince music drought, but its only 9 months since the last album and six months since the last tour....

What has happened to the Prince Music and More section!?!?

Endless idolisation threads. Prince in green, prince in red, moving picture thread, do you want him to tour thread.....christ, no wonder he wants us shut down, its not exactly inspiring is it?

More worrying is, when someone discusses the music, half the people say "I've never heard of that one but look at the this picture of his butt".

Please come back NPGMC.....take them with U.....

Rant over.... biggrin

Agree. But the last time someone pointed this out (maybe it was you wink ) the people who agreed that there were far too many threads about pics of P and and other redundant nonsense were beaten down about people being able to post what they want, blah, blah blah.

My position then and still is that there should be a specific forum for posts for newbies and people who only want to post pics and pant and drool at the guy's ass, eyes, lips, whatever... shit name it the mofo the "Pant & Drool Forum" and call it a day.

But I guess the folks that have been frequenting this site since 1995 don't get a vote. neutral

That's because some people use the org for something that they are lacking IRL.

The people might change , but the situations don't, so I can see why the older orgers see the repetition.

The org is what you decide to make it, I guess. shrug
