There is a saying believe 1/2 of what you see. Some of what you hear. And none of what you read. That is especially true for tabloids. They are good for a laugh. The enquirer is the best they used to come to celebrities and verifiy things.Mainly because they didn't want to be sued. Now they make so much money they don't care if someone sues them for not telling the truth. It is the nature of people they will latch on to negative things and the first bad thing they hear.That is why Jerry Springer is so popular. The car crash mentality. you'd gawk at a crash at the same time be happy it wasn't you. And if they can't find any dirt on you they make it up if your name sells papers for them.
