I am not going to lie and say I didn't like the sexy naughty boy back in the day because I most definitely did but,I would have to say as we've both grown spiritually I would have to say I love the Prince of today.Why ? I think Prince may want his music these days to be a celebration of life which includes sex but he seems to be putting less emphasis on sex as he did in the past. Age is a factor for Prince. At some point if he would continue crawling on the floor singing about sex he will pass from being sexy to looking like a creepy old guy. Its a ways off but he does have to look to the future and I think thats one reason he seems to be focusing more on the music & less on the razzle dazzle.

As for a favorite we don't have enough new & improved Prince to compare to the old dirty rascal.

Is there an option for us to want him somewhere in between the two extremes?

As a general comment, why is it that as "fans" we have a right to dictate how an artist will act,perform and portray themselves. Prince is his own man and can grow and make his own decisions. These forums are full of derogatory comments about the JW's and how they, and Prince, should not ram their ideas down other peoples throats. By the same reasoning what right do we have to say " I want the old Prince back" If we do that then by definition we are doing the exact same thing to him. I.E. Just coz we don't see eye to eye with him then HE must change and conform to what we think is right.
If you don't like his music now- don't listen- move on.
