2 of the most amazing and talented artists in the last 30 years. I agree, i would love to hear them combine their thoughts and just go for it. Under Pressure (Bowie and Queen) turned out amazing. If Prince decided to get personal and allow Bowie to influence him, and vice versa... now that would be worth hearing. The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. No doubt that P hasn't patterned himself after Bowie to a certain degree. Bowie is one of the coolest artists ever in the history of known performers. Anx actully wrote a serious article years ago about the similar aspects of Ziggy Stardust and Purple Rain, the albums. I myself saw a simialar thing, visually, with Bowie's Diamond Dogs tour and P's Controversy tour. They both wore the stripped down tuxedo look and 74-76, Bowie was extremely funk/rock. Bowie fucked with that sound actually up to 1980. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

david bowie is a great artist, but his voice isn't good enough to sing with Prince

Have you ever heard Sweet Thing? even songs like 'loving the alien' and 'absolute beginners' are proof of how amazing his voice is.

I would die to hear what those two could create together, or see them perform together onstage. If both of them could be persuaded to let go of their egos enough to truly collaborate, I think it could be a beautiful thing.
The two have a fair number of similarities: Both have long-lasting careers, both have been hugely influential on younger generations of artists, both have clear and distinct phases -and occasionally characters -in their careers, both have toyed with sexuality and gender in a way most men of any sexuality wouldn't dare, both fuse with varying degrees of success different sounds into their work. They're practically twins. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"
