I like Goldnigga (1993)! It's supposed 2 be an NPG album, but it's more of a Tony Mosley rap album than a Prince one. Some good songs on there, tho! The best tracks are obviously "Call The Law", "Black M.F. in the House" & "2gether".


Next, Exodus (1995) has the rest of the NPG without Tony M. on it & more input from Prince. The segues are hilarious, especially "Mashed Potato Girl"! Some very good/funky songs! My favorites are "The Good Life", "Cherry, Cherry", "Count The Days" & "The Exodus Has Begun".


And finally, New Power Soul (1998) is the only NPG album with Prince on the cover. It's more like a Prince solo album to begin with. Most of the songs sound like shit-hop R&B/club songs, and Larry Graham doesn't help either. The song "The War" is better than most of the whole NPS album, & half as long. I the song "Wasted Kisses", tho! Also, "Mad Sex", "Come On" & "The One".

Of these 3,NPS is my fave! More Prince,less NPG!

I used to HATE New Power Soul.

But now I can actually play it in the background while I'm cleaning or whatnot, and it doesn't make too bad of a 'party vibe' type of album. It actually has some very interesting moments in it, interspersed between the somewhat bland jam session sound to it.

'The One' is one of his better ballads if you ask me


This doesnt mean I've fallen in love with it though , but at least it's gotten more tolerable with age.

NPS takes me back to a special time in my life. Whenever I listen to it, I think about a "certain someone" and how we listened to it together and dissected the songs.
