I just wanna say, folks: Thanks for this thread. It's so rare that a thread pops up on the M&M forums that are actually about Our Hero's music and not his shoe size/sex life/favourite bubble gum. Even more rare is a thread of such nature that doesn't disppear into Org obscurity right away. It's refreshing. This is what this forum needs more of.

RP, thanks for this thread. You've shown me what bugged me about the album when I bought it, years and years ago. There's a warmth missing from it. I'd wished for more live guitars, for example.

That said, for all its samples, "Vicki Waiting" is a gem.

But, listen to "200 Balloons" (and I like that song), and it's Sample Central.

I can admire P for taking a new approach and I agree that lyrically he made some strides on this project. But, I also think it marks a point in his career when he began to cut corners, production-wise, by relying on technology's offerings.
