Damn! Freaky thing just happened: Had a bunch of songs on random and it went from a live version of When U Were Mine (One Nite Alone) to Do Yourself A Favor - and they both started with the exact same drum beat! Loved it.
I totally love the whole vibe of Do Yourself A Favor, i'm sure it would've scored well as a single back in the 80's if he'd released it (Yea i know it's a remake of Pepe Willies If You See Me, but it's far superior and has a much better beat/feel). He was such a badass back then, shit like this just dripped Cool yet he never even released it. I love when he goes all Bob George/Morris (even using the classic Bob George "I'll kick yo ass!"). Those must've been some electric studio sessions. | |

I agree. He turned an otherwise forgettable song into something so funny and funky. And I love the way at the end when the music starts to fade how he suddenly changes his mind and calls the ex-lover back... "Wait, come back!... I'm the one who's crazy!"
