Elton on Prince Elton John is on Larry King right now. He just gave major dap to Prince. Larry asked was Prince supposed to play. Elton said that Prince was hosting his own party but he had said he may play with Elton. John said it was a disapointment not playing with P ....but that he understood. He elaborated that Prince is his own man and if he doesn't feel comfortable (playing) he totally understood.
He said Prince was the greatest live performer in the WORLD today by far. And Larry sounded suprised and said "really...hmmm" Elton said easily the best musician, best live performer, greatest showman. There is no one in the league with him. He said he had so much admiration for Prince and totally gets him and how he works [Edited 2/25/08 18:21pm] Dance... Let me see you dance

And then Larry King said "How about that Charo? She's a hell of a dame, huh?" If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Wow. I'll have to watch the rerun at midnight to see this. [Edited 2/25/08 19:12pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

That wasn't the quote I was talking about. It was during a performance of Prettyman. He changed the lyric "When it comes a time that it just won't grow/do it like my brother/and buy some mo'/" He changed "my brother" to Elton John. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

At Madison Square Garden a few years back, Prince said that Elton called him "The Artist Formally Known as Successful", and then laughed about it. Prince then said "...and Elton's MY FRIEND!". I think they just play around and talk shit about each other. But I believe they are truly friends.

Here's the transcript:
KING: Was Prince supposed to entertain? JOHN: He came late. He said he might come and play. And with him, you never know whether he's going to do it or not. He's, you know, he's that kind of guy and I didn't -- you know, whether he played or not, it was up to him. And he didn't feel like it. And he was going to host his own party. And I think by the time I finished, it was a little late for him and he had to get back to his own house, because he hosted his own party. And that... KING: Was that... JOHN: It doesn't. No, that was fine. KING: You wouldn't call it a disappointment? JOHN: It's always a disappointment when you want to play with someone like Prince. But I've had the luxury of singing with him twice on stage. So I understand the way he works, the way he thinks. And it's fine with me. I -- you know, I have so much admiration for him. And what he does is -- I think he's, personally, the best entertainer in the world at the moment by far. KING: Really? JOHN: ...the greatest musician, the greatest showman. There's no one is in the same league as him. And, you know, he's his own man. He's, you know, I understand him. Every musician is different. If they don't feel comfortable, then I don't expect them to get up and do it. http://transcripts.cnn.co...kl.01.html

Prince is a petulant brat. Elton spoke the truth both times IMO: when he was knocking him and when he was prasing him. "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

He changed the lyric "When it comes a time that it just won't grow/do it like my brother/and buy some mo'/" He changed "my brother" to Elton John. That's because it was my satirical quote, as said by Sir Elton John. Satire, Londell. Satire. Close your flip phone.
