Thanks for the scoop. I was looking for a review of Prince's party this morning on the web, but could not find anything. Sounds like a great time was had by all. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

Well, the doctor's invite came and all the hype was exceeded, surpassed and left me grinning from ear to ear. People in attendance were Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz, Jude Law, Javier Bardem, Brett Ratner, Spike Lee, Eva Longoria Parker, Tilda Swinton, Roserio Dawson, Chris Tucker, Forest Whitaker, P. Diddy, Anthony Michael Hall, Kate Beckinsale, John Legend and Dane Cook, who raced to be by the front of the stage. There was one other person but we will leave that for later. No photos were taken inside the ouse at the request of the host. This house is amazing. Decorated great and just a great atmostphere. Must have been hundreds of people there. A comedian from def comedy jam opened up the events and a group from Las Vegas called moseik played a capella for 15 minutes. Prince took the stage shortly after 1:30 A.M. and the stage was so tiny, I don't know how they fit all those horn players and those twin dancers on there. Heard from someone this is the same band he has had for a few years. The room was very small and intimate and felt to me like a true house party. Music bouncing off the walls was great. The Prince of Hollywood was wearing an aqua blue one number suit and just tore it up. Playing thru a cover of "Be Happy" and a collection of his hits such as "1999", "I Feel For You", "Controversy", "A Love Bizzare", "Sexy Dancer", and a cover of "Le Freak" with Beverly Knight and Marva King and Shelby J. (If these names are wrong, blame the person who was screaming their names within ear shot.) In all honesty, he could have left after that and I would have been smiling. But no...it did not end there. My mouth dropped next. Being helped to the stage is the one and only Stevie Wonder!!!! Stevie said something along the lines that he always wanted to make up a song with Prince right on the spot and that is what they did. 2 of the greatest musicians of all time, making a new song right then and there. Amazing. What followed next was a 30 minute jam session between the two and the whole band. Classics such as "Superstition", "Thank You For Lettin Me B Mice Elf Agin" from Sly & The Family Stone along with other Stevie jams. By the end of that jam session, it had the young girls from the hills of Beverly saying "this is the greatest night of my life...ever!" The funk did not slow down as John Legend and Doug E. Fresh joined our most royal host who somehow in all of that changed outfits on us into a 70's super cool brown n white number. The songs just kept coming for another hour or so. A song called "Shhh, we gotta break it on down" to "Musicology", "Cream", and Roserio Dawson getting on down in the back to "You Got The Look". This was the one n only party to be at. No one throws a party like Prince. NO. ONE. From pastries and other niblets of great food being passed out to the doctor's favorite, an open bar. Every server and waitress was as pleasant as can be. The host would walk around and let loose on the dance floor whenever he felt with a very beautiful companion there as well. No drunk divas, no hollywood party boys. Just a couple of hundred new friends having a great time. Oh by the way, for all those rumors we are hearing about the Partyman having hip surgery; He was jumping up and down all night, higher than almost everybody. Basically, he was out grooving everyone. The Dr.'s prognosis is this: I see more parties in his future than operating tables. For those who got the invite and made it, you know how great this was. For those who got the invite and skipped it, you need to schedule an appointment with me because it is obvious you need your head examined. If the Icon throws any parties in the future and you are lucky to get the invite, clear your calendar, and make sure you are there. Nothing on earth as good as a Prince House Party.-Dr. F.B.

There's been quite a bit of interaction between Prince and Stevie Wonder this year - anyone think they're making some music together, apart from the jam session mentioned below?

My God, I would have paid serious money just to be the fly on the wall in that house just to see Prince and Stevie play together. Plus they made up a new song on the spot?! I would have fainted, I just know I would have been layed out on the floor! Great report! I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I don't understand the dislike for Dougie Fresh or old school rap. It was a 100% better than that crap that is out now.

Great review...Its also good to see Beverley Knight there....her and Prince were amazing together in London last year. Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
