believe it or not...Just saw...

...a professionally done copy of the musicology concert openning night L.A staples centre...now why isnt this officially out ...?Brittiant packaging, wonderful extras at the end ,interview with fans ...Great quality!!!

Besides that, I must say(agree or not ) Prince is light years away from anyone on earth as a live performer!!!
Greatest guitar player period!
He doesnt need to shred aimlessly to prove that...and if he does ,he is one of the few who can pump so much feelings and emotions in his guitar playing to blow you away(my guitar gently weeps..).If this man do an all out album & ROCK in the same fashion ,kicking it like he did on stage with Tom petty ...just rocking it from start to finish ,that would be something.
Back to musicology dvd...AWESOME show,mucho guitars..."on the couch acustic"BAM!!!
guitars solo from "sshhh" thats guitar lesson right there.
Its such a shame real talent like this is not out for the public "officially".
Its so refreshing seeing a full clean, well packaged concert dvd with Prince...my thirst is quenched!!!

That was the movie premire. It is a bootleg. And you are right it was a very very good show. SHAME Prince didnt relase this during the tour or after the movie was over.

Snap

The Musicology tour was rehearsed in Reno where he also gave a sneak preview, in addition to a little known performance at the Reno Hilton (now Grand Sierra Resort) earlier that week. I was suffering from a bad flu the night he was at the Reno Hilton, and didn't get a chance to see any of the rehearsals, but did catch the first night of the tour with my mother who also enjoyed the show. The next night (I believe) was when he officially premiered the Musicology tour in Los Angeles -- the show you just saw. I think by the time he or anyone around him considered putting out a DVD, it was too far back in the past, especially considering that he was already writing far greater songs for his next album, in my ever-so-humble opinion.

I went to that "concert" when I was in California - back in March or April of 2004. It was a live "simulcast" of the Musicology concert shown in regular movie theaters.

It was an excellent show, it was inexpensive (about $15 each ticket) AND they gave away the Musicology CD.

I saw opening night in a theatre also...I wish that it could alwayz be that way...It would have been great to see the opening night at the O2....

I can see this being a future trend for artist's.

He got way better as the tour went on. It's good to have, but there are way better shows circulating, I think he's pretty flat on that one.
