I don't have one near me. sad That's less than what one store around me wants for Graffiti Bridge (7.99)! Thats sad, gb costs more than purple rain.
I'll just have to get my lazy butt to an actual video store.

It was featured for black history month. cool

It's utterly embarassing that I've lost count of how many times I've seen PR. lol

Pretty good timing for me. I'd looked forever for Purple Rain and Under The Cherry Moon locally and hadn't seen them. We were out for my birthday dinner this evening and stopped at a supermarket to pick up something on the way home, and there was a front and center display of both movies. I felt 16 again. They were $9.99 each.

Go figure I bought Purple Rain and it was on VH1 when I got home lol . Oh well, I don't know that I'll ever watch it much. I just wanted to own it and especially UTCM.

Oh, at two viewings.
I only do the treadmill at intervals that each last about an hour, Central Western time.

I know. lol, I lost count how many times I've seen it. I remember the evening Prince performed at Butter Restaurant in NYC and did the GMA performance earlier that day, that one week later, a bunch of us NY purple fans got together, and went to a movie theatre near 34th street to watch Purple Rain. I guess it was to get over the Purple fever Prince dropped on NYC the week earlier. It helped a lot. lol What can I say, it's a classic movie. Two of my favorite parts are the comical acts of Jerome and Morris and after Prince sings Purple Rain, then dances all over the stage..classic.

Someone said to me in the chat that it was gonna be on at 10 on VH1. I assumed she meant VH1Classic... then I just felt like flipping through the channels once more before picking up the prince album.

I happen across VH1 where I catch him a little into "Let's go Crazy". My jaw just dropped.

If I see the movie, then my mind won't be where it needs to be. I'll be taking several steps back from 1992 back to 1984. And didn't I decide earlier that I was getting sick of the movie and wouldn't watch it for a while?

Well, I can't say no to Prince rolleyes so I ended up watching the movie with the attitude that I wouldn't get myself too involved in it or risk setting myself back. Somehow, I ended up enjoying it, though after coming back from the commericals, I had to figure out where my head was, haha.

So I've seen the movie 22 times now. I was considering watching it in March cuz that's when I saw it the first time EVER in its entirity. Now I won't have to. I can shelve it for a while, probably until the summer.

And actually, if I am going to watch it whenever its on VH1Classic or whatever, why did I bother getting the DVD? confuse
The extras I guess, but I've seen it on TV more times than I watched the DVD.

I really enjoyed it, though. It was a cool experience that somewhat felt brand new.

Also, did anyone happen to catch in the scene where Apollonia gives him the guitar, there's a sideways heart pinned up on the wall behind him higher up? I just recognized that as a prop from the 1999 video cool

It also got me thinking. How close was the design of his bedroom to real life? hmmm
had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

My 6th sense for prince must have kicked in again. I was just thinking of PR when i looked at the guide and there it was. That type of thing happens quite often actually, like I'll get a feeling i should go to a certain store in the mall and there is a giant poster of him. strange. I watched it 4 a while, but they cut out half the scenes for being to sexual, i'd rather watch it on DVD.

Yeah, I know, it's a classic. During that scene, this is the first time I noticed people in the audience were grabbing at his hands while he was laying on his back on stage. It's amazing how many times you can watch a movie, and catch things you missed all the other times you watched it.

I finally saw it from start to finish.....I remember now why I never finished it...the hitting was too much for me then. Still hard to watch but the movie in it's entirety (sp) was great....still not clear on how much is "bio"-based. I think that keeps changing.... Man can the song Purple Rain ever make you cry the way he plays it in the movie. I've not heard him talk so much in my life....lol. Awesome job P!!! My thoughts are w/u stay strong!! I'm sure your party will be the coolest!! All these parties will be done and over with in a few weeks or so....and then finally you can get some much needed rest... heart heart heart 4 u 4 always
