It's just that I'm not quite so hardcore as some of y'all; but I'm ashamed to admit, I don't really understand what Princes actual problem with the Org and the quake, et al actually is. I mean, is he straight tryin to get us all shut down? If so, why? What is his stated reason? Pleaz don't tell me to do my research cuz I ain't got the time and this is the place to ask ain't it?

From what I gather there isn't a vendetta...All that was said was that Prince didn't want illegal downloading being traded or reproduced, as well as some photographs to be kept personal, and not shared or passed along on the internet.

Prince is trying to control the internet by letting his lay firm clamp down in what Prince sees as infringes on his copyrights.

We can all act hurt by it, but he's right. Sure, it makes Prince an uptight bastid, as, with most these things, he is front-runner, but you all know he is just doing what he does cuz he's got a right too.
It also kind of shows Prince is mightily obsessed with OR money OR rights/ownership OR just being his self; a control freak. Probably all of the above.

So it's not Prince against US, as there is no US. We will still buy tickets to concerts. Even though he makes crappy records. He's still Prince, ya know? And he's cool that.

I forgive him for being controling. It would just be somewhat more easy to bear if he would not just toss us leftover bones though. Play THAT fonkay music, ermmm, moccacino 40-something.

A big issue with fans is that Prince is ALSO trying to clamp down on the FAIR USE of his creations, e.g. threatening people who put up a video of their baby dancing to a 20-second clip of "Let's Go Crazy" playing in the background.

The end result is... Prince is now irrelevant and many fans will never buy anything he creates again. I, for one, will only download his stuff for free. As far as concerts go, I won't pay for a ticket, I'll just download the show.

I appreciate that you like Prince's music Ispear76...but If you loved Prince you would want to be in the same room with Him and everybody else, as well as purchase a record.

U just don't get it, do U? While u're complaining and bitching about downloading his stuff for free, maybe "U R" the real reason why he's acting the way he is. Maybe if "U" don't download his stuff for free, then maybe he can legally get it out 2 us real die hard fans. Why should he release his cd's and dvd's when you're stealing them from him? How would U feel if U invented something that can cure cancer and AIDS and u "downloaded" the formula on your computer and Prince sees it and (I don't know...) downloads it from your computer and take claims 4 it and gives it away 4 free. All your hard work is gone. All those long nights...gone. All u wanted 2 do was save the world and get paid and get awards and be loved all over the world but Prince shows up and steals it from u and gives it away 4 free, cause he feels that "Jehovah" told him it was the right thing 2 do. Now U tell me this...If U had other cures and U know that Prince would..(scratch that) WILL steal them from your computer and give them away 4 free....WOULD U LET THE WORLD KNOW, OR WILL U SAY...FU*K IT?
