Although I just muted the song, tooooo long Were you (or maybe are) a dancer? Do I look like Prince? I'm beginning to understand how he feels, quite embarrassing looking back, but hey, you've just gotta laugh eh? Yes, there was lots of falling in the mud, the lead girl sitting in the mud at the end - she was from the School of Performing Arts in NY (Fame Academy!), anyway she was nearly in tears, this was Scotland in the middle of winter, it was bl**dy FREEZING! Yes, I used to be a dancer, you'll be glad to know I did a lot better things! We were all at ballet school then, it was great fun! Especially the gigs after the shoot!

Although Gary Nueman and Kraftwerk were probably the greater influence. But the whole reference to chopping things down, makes me think there was a Prince influence as well, Morris Day also had a song called Oak Tree, which later gave Prince his wooden leg by chapping the Oak Tree down: http://www.youtube.com/wa...32SqqV-buk The video to chainsaw is absolutely trippin, it must have been hilarious making it, thanx for posting Jeff Thanks Whitnail! I thought you might like that! Wow, I didn't know all that about the Prince influence, cool! Not exactly Appollonia though am I? To think, this is the same year that Purple Rain came out, do you think P was quaking in his boots, with all the hot competition going on in Scotland? imagine him with his nice shiney motorbike in the mud or even his bmw´s for that matter. ah the tractors in that video drive me crazy, this one will be high on the list next time my neighbour comes round and we are both If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.

Too bad, you mentioned P. only left the new ones, well, these were worth looking at since they don't seem to be around anymore.

This is the song I'd send to Prince Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered (Sinead O'Connor's version from Am I not your Girl - that's important?) After one whole quart of Brandy Like a Daisy I'll awake With no bromo-seltzer handy I don't even shake Men are not a new sensation I've done pretty well I think But this half-pint imitation Put me on the brink I'm wild again Beguiled again A simpering whimpering child again Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered am I couldn't sleep and wouldn't sleep when love came and told me I shouldn't sleep Lost my heart, but what of it? He is cold I agree he can laugh, but I love it Although the laugh's on me I'll sing to him, each Spring to him and long for the day when I cling to him He's a fool and don't I know it But a fool can have his charms I'm in love and don't I show it like a babe in arms I've sinned a lot, I mean a lot But I'm like sweet 17 a lot I'll sing to him, each Spring to him and worship the trousers that cling to him When he talks he is seeking words to get on his chest Harsh until he's speaking he's at his very best jest again Oh yes, perplexed again Then, God, I can be oversexed again Bewitched Bothered and Bewildered am I [Edited 2/22/08 11:01am] Is this song about Prince? Oh, forgot about this, em... yes kinda, not the bad bits (originally someone else)

If you search for tenderness
It isn't hard to find You can have the love you need to live But if you look for truthfulness You might just as well be blind It always seems to be so hard to give Honesty is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue Honesty is hardly ever heard And mostly what I need from you I can always find someone To say they sympathize If I wear my heart out on my sleeve But I don't want some pretty face To tell me pretty lies All I want is someone to believe Honesty is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue Honesty is hardly ever heard And mostly what I need from you I can find a lover I can find a friend I can have security Until the bitter end Anyone can comfort me With promises again I know, I know When I'm deep inside of me Don't be too concerned I won't ask for nothin' while I'm gone But when I want sincerity Tell me where else can I turn Because you're the only one that I depend on Honesty is such a lonely word Everyone is so untrue Honesty is hardly ever heard And mostly what I need from you

Oh that's great CJ, I love Grace Jones, especially La Vie en Rose Great tunes CJ, Roxy Music are great and I especially liked Ferry´s solo work, great for chilling to. As for Grace Jones, her island life album is one of the few I have a couple of times, I especially love this one, with all the funky beats, totally double sided lyrics and does sounds similiar to Lady Cab Driver going on it the background If it were not for insanity, I would be sane.
