It's official. Prince's best album is Musicology.

That's great. I'm waiting for Prince to release an album that will beat the pants off of Musicology in sales. Never say never. I didn't think Musicology would sell like it did and look what happened. I hope something miraculous happens like that again.

Well the album cost was included in the ticket price for those who went to see P on his very successful "Musicology" tour afterall so of course it did well.

I don't like the Musicology album as a whole though, I only like the title track actually. 3121 and Planet Earth are far superior albums. 3121 especially is a great album, that album went gold didn't it?

Yes it did. It's a crime that it hasn't hit platinum.

And yes, the sales were included in concert ticket prices. The RIAA have introduced new rules against this.

falloff typical. u can always count on the system to stifle genius with stupid laws that benefit no one.

they think if they scribble down a few more words in law books thats gunna stop brilliant ideas! or make things fairer for people!

its hardly his fault he thought of it first.

What in the world are you talking about? Prince was the one who was getting undeserved record sales.

People always like to say that Prince doesn't care about record sales. Haha, he does. He was bragging about this scheme allowing him to outsell Norah Jones back when Musicology was about to come out.

wouldnt this idea have been a brilliant way to stem the fall in cd sales, incorporating cd sales into live shows would give a needed boost and give more indication of popularity in terms of live performances. why oh why did they pass a law which is simply going to move the music industry further back than it already is now, allowing music theft/piracy to escelate further.
Wouldn't you love to love me?

It doesn't matter. People didn't go to live shows to get a free Musicology CD. They went to hear the hits.
