Ok, I KNOW I'm a bit slow and 10 or more years behind the times, but I just got Emancipation a couple of months ago, and ....I've just discovered the accompanying BOOKLET

I've been playing the CD (mostly Disc2) but had ignored the booklet - thought it was just lyrics or something - (been busy!) It wasn't until I saw CJanssen's childhoold pic of Prince holding Planet Earth, and someone said where it was from, that I thought that I must have it! What a discovery!!

It's beautiful, beautifully presented and has really brought the album alive for me. All those little notes, too many to discuss in one post but.... IMAGINE your husband writing your wedding song, first dance.... how romantic is that? It's also very moving because this album was so obviously a loving dedication to his existing family and new family.... I adore the picture with him and his little sister looking out through the open window towards freedom.....

I LOVE it when you find little treasures like this ....

Are you talking about the 4.75" booklet, or are you talking about the roughly 8" x 10" book?

I haven't leafed through the booklet in a while, but from what I remember it was very nice.

The book is supernice - nice full-color photos and lyrics.

It's not his sister in the booklet, it's Mayte as a child holding the symbol with Prince holding the earth.

I'm in an Emancipation Mood this week so I've looked into the booklet multiple times the last days, I love it!

All the cool quotes and stuff. There's one question that's been on my mind since I got the CD.

The picture that is 2 pages big... with Prince standing... blue background with red letters behind him. What do the words say?? The pic is between the CD 2 and CD 3 notes.

Also.. does your Emancipation booklet have this funny smell? Mine smells werid and my girlfriend's Emancipation booklet smells the same. That smell reminds me of summer '05 when I bought it.. great!

I always hated the book. It is so full of typos it doesn't seem like a professional product.

I cant get enough of the emancipation album lately, I think its such a highly personal album, you can really feel how much in love Prince is.

And the booklet is also highly personal, it provides a lot of private information which gives a real insight into Prince's life at the time.

He doesn't really sing anything from this now does he? Maybe not surprising. It must have been so hard for him to promote this album after losing their baby, but I can understand why Mayte encouraged him to go ahead....after all the love and dedication he put into making it!

I know like the fact he uses the sound from their babys ultrasound as the bass line in sex in the summer.

Im loving Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother at the mo too along with Saviour I think they are such beautiful and emotional songs.
