Apart from the last night which was special for so many more reasons, best main show for me was 13th September or 6th September.

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Ooooh my favourite topic! I was there on 7 August and it was incredible, first time I ever heard PR live - astonishing. But my favourite was 6 September, such a brilliant atmosphere, and Prince was really on top form, and of course there was the aftershow..... razz

The main show on opening night Aug 1st was spectacular especially during the encore when Prince emerged from the audience after most of the people had already left the arena.....that was an incredible moment. The aftershow of the same night was a huge disapointment for me as Prince appeared after a veryyy looong time and when he finally got up on stage he seemed upset. He didn't look as if he was enjoying himself.
Sept 6 mainshow AND aftershow were unforgettable love I still haven't recovered from the aftershow mushy This was a profoundly intense experience.

Interesting. I've been a fan for years, seen the guy probably 20+ times, from Lovesexy through pretty much all, with O2 the latest. I was so hyped for this concert. I went to ONA and thought it was awesome. Had my brother and our partners with us and I'd been talking up how incredible it was gonna be for months. Chr1st was I dissapointed! The only other time I'd been as dissapointed with was the Wembley stadium gig (equally bad IMO). More than anything though, it wasn't so much the songs, I just thought the sound was a bag of shyte. Far too quite. I remember all the wembley 'arena' gigs I've been to where it was so load and clear it was like wearing headphones. Coupled with being at the wrong end and hardly seeing the fella, it made for such a dissapointing nite.

Am i the only one who thought the sound was awful, or was it just the back end of the arena that was bad? I had faaaar more enjoyment at home watchin a dodgy copy of a musicology gig in the US than I did at the O2.

apparently the sound was how Prince wanted it not how it could have been but of the five nights i went the sound was pretty good on three of them and i had a sound engineer with me who thought the same on the 16th September but all were enjoyable concerts (having never seen Prince before) and we had a brilliant time (possibly being in a box helped)
"C'mon y'all - let me hear you sing, c'mon y'all, shake, c'mon y'all, jump" - Yes Prince -

Favourite main show was Aug 7th. Simply electric.

Favourite aftershow was 13th Sept. Sunday night madness in the extreme! Of the 40 odd aftershows I've been to, this one topped them all.

6th Sept for the mainshow and a'show hands down for me out of the ones I went to, although the 18th was pretty special as it was the first aftershow and the lovely hat plus great track 'The Rules' and then of course 'Use Me' by Bill Withers and then his own classics Dorothy Parker and Love Bizarre.

cause all he did was walk around the stage and do his occasionaly spin the best thing about it was the stage cause the material at the o2 was bored

now he can get his shit 2gether and do something like it was in 94-95

i agree cause the ones that always lament 4 the days of old instead of forging ahead never want their beloved prince 2 xpand his music horizons rolleyes instead of realizing that the london shows were nothing but the musicology tour on a different stage but mostly the same boring old songs. the saving grace was the aftershows

i heard that it was one of the best out of all the aftershows i missed i think this is probably the one i regret the most or maybe the hat night lol

as i said previously its a hard choice for me it would have to be either the 28/8 aftershow, 6th september mainshow or aftershow, 13th aftershow or the 21st aftershow i dunno i probably have one i liked more but those are the ones i can think of off the top of my head lol

Tuesday 14th August was absolutely amazing.

Incredible aftershow as well, and I met Prince after it!

That same night I found out my American wife finally got granted her visa to come and live here permanently. It was an amazing night.

i would consider that but u know that will never happen with all the sports teams and events that r booked in2 the garden. not 2 mention he would have 2 change that setlist cause 21 nights of the same dribble won't roll in the NYC

alot of people were taking photos as well which appeared to annoy him if i remember correctly something was even said about it but still seeing him in that red suit he wore to the grammys reminded me of that night

i am still surprised everytime i see him in a pair of shoes that match exactly to the material of the suit i always wonder if he picks the shoes or the suit first lol

he wore some great shoes the light up wedges or the heels covered in crystals have to be my favourites

16th Sept was my fav aftershow because it was the only night I got right to the front of the stage (as it was the only one where we didn't also go to the main show), and my friend got up to dance and high-fived him on stage, and we met him briefly after the show. But I couldn't say anything as I had no voice to speak with lol But he was so relaxed and funny during that show, it's the one I'd have picked to be at the front if I could.

18th Aug was my first aftershow and that was fucking amazing. I didn't have the best view though as I was standing at the back by the bar and my friend was mega tired because she was in the middle of moving house, so despite what was happening she left me to go and sit down in a corner. Mad cow!

that's an accolade - yes it rocked that's the first one i have ever been to so assumed they were all like that. 21st was great as well but different but hats off to Prince he played for a solid 3 hours - and we paid £25 - i think that's pretty good of an artist to do that biggrin

biggrin I think it's UNHEARD of for an artist of Prince's stature - I felt incredibly priviledged to be in that situation - like being down the local pub and Prince getting up to play - AMAZING! biggrin
