Graffiti Bridge

So i finally bought this movie and watched it for the first time last night and I can't believe how horrible it was! We all know Purple Rain wasn't the most incredible movie in the world, but compared to Graffiti Bridge it was amazing. At least PR had a story line and the music was good. There were like three good songs in Graffiti Bridge. I'm still waiting for UTCM to arrive and hoping that one is better!

Purple Rain was cool when we were 16.
You look at it now, and it's bad.
But it's genius compared to Graffiti Bridge.
UTCM isn't as good as Purple Rain,
but isn't as bad as Graffiti Bridge.

The ONLY good film Prince ever made was SOTM.

Purple Rain is just as good (or bad lol) as any other rock-movie/musical of the 80's

GB is one of the lamest "things" ever done

"At least PR had a storyline and the music was good"

Exactly.'Purple Rain' was a very down-to-earth movie, and it was believable.'GB' is some weird fairy-tale that didn't make sense to most people.

I am actually going to put myself right in the firing line for abuse here and right out say that I dont think Graffitti Bridge is as bad as anyone else does shrug I mean, sure parts of it were lame, but....
Quite frankly its better than the ROcky Horror picture show, or having to watch Madonna in swept away biggrin

I have to admit that GB is a pretty crap film, the only reason I watched it was to look at Prince and to say that I've seen it,bein a Prince fan and all that.Purple Rain is much better and UTCM is my favourite,I actually think that is a good film, and funny,I like to think that thats how Prince is in real life.

"Under the Cherry Moon" is "Citizen Kane" compared to "Graffiti Bridge."

Hey, Rocky Horror Picture Show is 100 times the movie GB will ever be. At least RHPS is still playing in theatres, and people are still getting up and dancing the time warp and doing audience participation. When was the last time GB got that kind of treatment? Sorry, I just happen to be a die hard RHPS fan.

It was actually a strain to sit through the entire film, but Purple Rain is on a completely different level. I thought that it was perfection, the chemistry between P&A was very cute and the film was believable. Prince is the king of cool biggrin

Under The Cherry Moon is a wonderful bit of silly fluff and it's beautiful to look at. Watch it without any expectations and just enjoy it for what it is - bubble gum for the brain. And the Wrecka Stow scene will keep you going for hours.

yeah sorry i should have made that clearer...i LOVE purple rain. especially when he is running through the house looking for his father and does this sweet spin move before he says "answer me motherfucker!" that's my fave part! GB was just so...weird! and them music doesn't compare.

I love this bit too!

GB is odd and contrived and doesnt do justice to the music on the album but then he was definately entombed at paisley park at that time and PR was shot outside in reality at a real club i think thats the difference plus PR wasnt a prince film as such he didnt produce it or direct it, his acting is fine but GB was just so fake I think that just highlighted the strangeness of it all with the odd angel girl - all abit surreal.

UTCM is one of my favourites i went to see this when it came out and after the huge success of PR it was a hard act to follow but it all seemed so artistic (blacknwhite etc 20's look) and funkywierd that all was forgiven and we loved him for it. Plus parade is one of the most fantastic albums just listen to it again and again bearing in mind the story of UTCM and it will become even more brilliant to you, the way it flows along within the story - i wish you heaven watching that one!

Actually, you have to see RHPS in a theatre to get the full experience. If you watch it at home, it's just plain boring.
