Animal Kingdom and other weird songs What the fuck? Weirdest song I ever heard. What is the message of this song? He doesn't eat Very weird stuff. I like the backward guitar solos though. What other bizarro songs does he have like this? Maybe we can go to the movies and cry together

It was about veganism, he doesn't eat animal products, didn't the lyrics give that away?

"Animal Kingdom"...funky, stupid lyrics, though.
That's the last year that Prince was funky--1998! If you want more weirdness, try "Had U" on Chaos and Disorder. I love that song. Also, try "Wasted Kisses", for the implied dark subject matter and funk. Try "Goodbye" because it's good and he mentions suicide in the song(That was so shocking to me when I first heard it. I heard "Sexual Suicide" back in 1990 but he's only saying that's the end of his sex life in "Sexual Suicide". In "Goodbye", he actually mentions suicide.) "Papa" is the ultimate in kick-ass weirdness. In that song, imagine if the Kid, from Purple Rain had written a song about his father abusing him. The same thing that happens in the movie happens in the song(The father shoots himself). "Papa" rocks, especially the psychedelic ending. Prince doesn't make music like that, anymore. It sucks!!!!! I've been listening to Prince's albums over the past 10 years, and I feel that Prince's music has lost all of its passion. Mind you, I haven't bought a Prince album in 10 years, but I've listened to his music. Prince used to be able to entrance me with songs. He doesn't anymore. I want the "Question of U"/"Joy In Repetition"/"Slow Love"/"I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man"/"Can't Stop This Feeling I Got" Prince back!!!!!

I saw the video of Papa which was the only time I saw it (heard the song once before) and I gotta say, I was entranced by it for some reason. But what I meant was if you were drawn to dark songs... it doesn't seem like Papa is a weird song, just dark. And that concert footage that was on the 3121 website, Joy in Repetition, I was drawn into the song as well. It's like stories being told.

I imagine, from your post, that you don't have Graffiti Bridge? You should get it. Most of the Prince songs on that kick ass! The album version of "Joy in Repetition" is better than Prince's concert version, in my opinion.

I so wanted to see that movie but everyone is getting down on that movie, that they swayed me for a moment. If I ever run into it, I'll get it.
