Hello all-
This week BET has been showing the unannounced "Somewhere Here On Earth," video from July's "PLANET EARTH." The video that was featured is much shorter than the version we get on the cd release.....but nonetheless it paints a very nice picture for the high point in Prince's latest venture. Finally we get to see on TV a video that was long awaited to view. The funny thing with the video was that as soon as it started and ended on the lower left hand corner of the screen,it just says PRINCE-"SOMEWHERE HERE ON EARTH"- NPG- NPG RECORDS as there was no sign of which album this joint came from. Once again here is one of our favorite artists promoting a song without promoting the cd that it is featured on. Only Prince can make this type of story happen. Who else in music can be so controversial and get away with like he does?
Of course there are a handful of tracks on "PLANET EARTH," that are fantastic like the GRAMMY WINNING, " FUTURE BABY MAMA," " GUITAR," " CHELSEA ROGERS," and finally the opening self titled cut.
Make it a point to set your VCR's or whatever recording device you may own as I am sure that we will not see this video for long. This is sure to be a rare classic video from PRINCE that will get filed away in the vaults shortly.
Check "BET NOW," as this is the show that has been broadcasting the video.
