Prince at Paisley Park (no longer a virgin) Forgive me orgers, but I just caught this on VH1 Classics and this is the first time ever seeing this documentary?!! Prince pissed me off after the recent lawsuits. I think I'm in love again.
The behind the scenes footage was great! Too bad it was only as hour.

I like the performance of "The Ladder" that's shown at the end. That portion alone is worth the dvd i recorded it on HE'S COMING AGAIN

I feel like its been a long time since I've seen this, but living as I am with Prince as part of my daily routine, months can feel like years.
I think the last time I saw it was last summer. Either way, when I saw it the first time, it was like a flood of new information. And each time, I'm free to interpret how I wish given the info I'd obtained since the last time I saw it. I love these kinds of things where people who know Prince and have worked with Prince talk about him and they really know what they're talking about. They're not just riding on suspicions like people that don't know any better. But with Prince, people are my #1 source of information on him (aside from the actual music that is ) had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

In that bed with the sherbet-colored linens and the heart-shaped mirror above the headboard. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I'm fairly certain that perfomance of SOTT is from Paisley Park Dec. 31, 1987 - that's the classic show that featured Miles Davis for 10 minutes. You may be thinking of the the MTV Video Awards show from September '87 in which Prince did SOTT and Play in the Sunshine - also very cool. Great documentary - I caught it too! My favorite part is the Owen Husney interview. He revealed that prince's greatest ability is to suck what's out of your head (no pun intended) and take it to the next level. That's been the greatest debate since the beginning of his career. Even Monte Moir said something like that once. "Don't play or say anything around Prince, or it will end up on Warner Bros. Records."
When the interviewer ask Owen to play some of the early demos, the look and his answer is priceless. "I Can't." Like P and his bodyguards would come in a FUCK him up!!!
