Prince- never to be understood

Prince left Warner Bros and said that he needed an outlet to put out more music. Then he got his website and never released all that music that he said he couldn't do at Warner bros.

I don't understand him.

He said it best in a 2004 interview
"I'm a bundle of contradictions"

To an extent, I can pretty much understand and explain anything Prince does to the limit of my understanding of him. But even I have a limit.

As for this, guys, Prince has been contradicting himself for years. I embraced that the moment I heard him speak the quote above. Why is everyone so surprised about things he's done... or in this case, hasn't done?

I guess you really can't take his word for anything, but we love him anyway cool

No one can deny his many contradictions, but I don't think this fits in that category. He released a ton of music after leaving WB. He had a bunch of official releases, downloadable albums from his website, those great Ahdio shows, Reflection room songs, and on and on. He put out a lot of music.

There are hundreds of things I would love to see him release from the vault (as well as things that have been released but only on vinyl, or things that should be remastered), but he remains as prolific as ever. I wish other releases would happen, but I can't blame him for controlling his artistic output as he sees fit, even if I sometimes disagree with his choices or the quality of what he does put out.

he lives in the moment. i find it helps to pay less attention to what he says, and more to what he does.

He sure wasn't lying when he said that. You will grow gray hair or lose your hair trying to figure Prince out. Hell, I wonder if Prince can figure his own ass out! Prince is just flat out crazy as fuck, but we love him anyway. lol
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

haha... its only been a year and I'm doing just fine cool

So far, I think the only thing that has escaped my understanding is the pulling of The Black Album... because there are just far too many stories behind it that its hard to sort them out. Haha, the whole thing gave me a headache (and I'm still considering that the drugs was a definite maybe wink ).

And maybe when I get back to the 90's, I'll hit a brick wall once or twice, but hey, it's fun for me. I enjoy figuring him out. I'd say he's like a giant Sudoku puzzle (which I've done several of and solved)... but like ones with either multiple answers or they have no answer (he just holds too many of the cards 4 u 2 figure out the rest wink )
