Kickstart Prince's creativity.

Come up with innovative ideas to kickstart prince's creativity, like the PFY thing which inadvertently got us a good song. Any ideas welcome.

My vote:

put him in the studio in a floral skirt and a bra and his guitar and lock him up. Never mind the age, mind the music.

or maybe, just like the PFU prodded him on, a wholesale front foot slander campaign saying he listens only to barry white and barry manilow might work magic. He's such a kid.

A divorce and optionally a new love helps.
As well as some spiritual happening.
Maybe a FAT recording CONtract?

remove engineer, any technology invented after 1984, give him a list of topics that address real life like getting older, losing love and what it was like to be in a band in 1975 and andre's basement. cellphone that can only call out and recieve calls from wendy, lisa, sheila, doctor fink, jimmy jam and andre cymone.

He should do what he's doing now, take a break. I think he's just creatively burned out after going so hard for 30 years. It happens to all the greats.

Stevie
Dylan
Neil Young

He needs to not put anything out until 2009.

I'd like 2 c what he does with Questlove..or give him Timbalands studio 4 one night alone.....

I would like 2 c a Prince 'featuring' album.

Prince on the side writing / producing all the songs and SOMEONE ELSE singing them. Different vocalists on each jam.

(not like 1800 new Funk which is defferent era and time honey)

go thru the vaults for some unreleased gems like "electric intercourse", get timbaland and the neptunes on board to bring the tunes up to date and release a new "retro" album, with a remake of 17 days featuring nicole scherzinger

get rid of the technology pre 1984 including that drum machine, get back on the skins do a funky riff on the drums ..accept calls from sheila, dr fink, jimmy, terry and andre..IGNORE the calls from wendy and lisa but PICK UP THE PHONE if sonny and michael b call mobile
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I think he needs 2 be challenged musically by another artist, someone needs 2 call him out! who though, is the question????? In his mind, no one can touch him. If your the big dog on the block, why should you bust a sweat. Just throw your fans a bone every now & then so everythings cool. In other words the Kid needs a Morris Day!.....the sad thing is he may be right. Don't get me wrong there are musicians out there that are better in certain aspects compared to Prince, but he's the total package. Kind-of like Kobe. U might not like him, or he may not have the highest numbers in every catagory, but overall he's the most complete player in the nba, right now.....eek did I just compare Kobe to Prince neutral Well I think U get the point.

First, he needs to take a break. After 30 years, the guy deserves it. He could just spend some downtime doing absolutely nothing musical to clear his head a bit. Like a painter stepping back from their work to get a fresh perspective. He could go on vay-cay, maybe take a class in something, take up gardening, anything. Maybe not gardening. I can't see Prince getting his hands dirty. lol

Then, get him out of his fame-and-fortune induced fishbowl he's been living in. Send him down to the kinds of clubs and small venues that don't have velvet ropes or VIP rooms to see live gigs by a variety of artists. A hiphop show one night, smooth soul the next, a punk show for a twist, etc. Get him off of his throne and mingling with the people again. I guarantee there's more fodder for inspiration in environments like this than there ever will be in a crowd content to sit on its' laurels and gloat about hwo much better their music is than the new generation.

And if he ever does collabs again, he needs to learn to back off and let the other person's talent shine. A lot of potentially good work went to waste on the Rave CD, for example. It's a duet, your Highness, not a dictatorship.

Quite simply, the worst idea in the entire history of human civilsation.
