Surely that's not right...they are on the Prince Rave Into The Year 2000 dvd doing Junglelove and The Bird!! And they did Jungle Love at the end of Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back....unless the lineup was different then. I don't know. All I know is that both Morris and Jerome made appearances. The line was different then. This is the first time in 18 years that the original line up was together.

That may be right. I think they mean the WHOLE group. I saw the TIME in 2004 in St. Paul - they opened for Prince! But Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were not there.

I was never able to pick out who was actually onstage in that flick and who wasn't. The camera really only focused on Morris and Jerome, but I think that was the point. Remember, they gave one to Milli Vanilli back in the day, while music from people like Ani DiFranco, Damien Rice, Sufjan Stevens, Beth Orton, and Andrew Bird has been ignored. I expect that Prince will receive more Grammys if he continues to put out albums. I think folks are starting to realize the he's one the of few genuine, time-tested talents out there, and they're going to start giving Prince Grammys for just about anything to sort of make up for the fact that he was passed over back in the day. The same thing happened to Joni Mitchell. She didn't get her due back in her prime, and then they started showering her with awards all of the sudden. Joni herself lamented that she felt they were only giving her awards because they felt like they should honor her for SOMETHING. The fact that Prince's most recent Grammy wins were for songs that rank about average in his body of work (e.g., "Future Baby Mamma", "Call My Name") confirm my thoughts on this matter. - [Edited 2/11/08 18:46pm] I think they're guilt-Grammys, really. In these past few years people have been falling all over themselves to praise Our Hero and work with him and shower him with accolades and awards and claim they've always been fans and that the Symbol was a great statement. But where the hell was everybody before 2004? I think it's finally caught up with the movers and shakers in the industry that not only is he a force to be reckoned with at the business table, but that he's been largely ignored and brushed off as a musician when he didn't deserve it. They're trying to retroactively make up for things like SOTT being robbed of it's award-deserving status, and Prince being made the butt of jokes for years. SOTT did deserve the Best Album Grammy, but at least it lost to Joshua Tree! So it's not all bad. As for "guilt" Grammys - I do agree, but I also think that certain performers get nominated so that they ATTEND the show.
