Not my #1 Prince album, but absolutely deserving of the induction (definitely moreso than FBM's win). Maybe I'll cue 1999 on my computer and listen to it again right now.

1999 was so groundbreaking being a double album set from such a newcomer. I just loved the album from start to finish. 1999 was so different from For You, I Wanna Be Your Lover and Dirty Mind. I am so happy about this addition to the Grammy Hall of Fame! All of the list of inductees were simply amazing...Janis Ian, The Eagles, Etta James, Marion Anderson and Michael Jackson...stellar!! This was the album that introduced me to Prince. I was 4 and I only heard 1999 and Little Red Corvette but the videos burned into my memory and I never thought that 25 years later, this man would be my favorite singer/musician. This album is tied with 2 other P albums as my favorite albums ever. It's an amazing journey from start to finish. It's one of these albums that I can't live without. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that | |
