Umm, shouldn't we be Celebrating Something?

Isn't 2008 the 30th anniversary of Prince's debut album and the start of a beyond incredible career?:

Yep, it's April though I think (I was born the same month as his 'for you' was released!)

Its gonna be quite a year for him: his 50th birthday and the 30th anniversary of
his first album - I wonder if he'll bother to celebrate, what with him being a jw - I really hope so!
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

He's a jew? eek

But seriously this was actually the first album I bought, I've been a fan since 79.

I think it should indeed be celebrated, as Prince has made a solid musical impact for American culture.

yep April 7th. And the first single was released 2 months later.

Oh and as I have been listing to "sound 80" as of late. I wanted to ask about the aterntive vertsions to "soft and wet" "baby" and "my love is forever."
I happend across my old copy of "Prince: a pop life" by Dave Hill and it talks about thoes three songs being part of the demo tape Chris Moon gave to Owen Husney. Thoes three songs found there way (the most noticable change being to the firsr verse of "Soft and Wet") on to "For You" but seemed to be missing proper credit to Chris Moon. Only "Soft and Wet" gave any credit to Moon but then only for lyrics and not the music.

My question is: are thoes three songs from "sound 80" the ones from the demo tape?

Good question! I hope they don't have a problem with that but somehow I doubt it zipped

He didn't appear to have a problem with talking about the 20th anniversary of Purple Rain so maybe he wouldn't mind talking about this anniversary.

Great album, I love it, it's in my top list. But I dout Prince will celebrate.. Prince doesn't even celebrate his own birthday now a days.
Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Hmm, not sure if celebrating the debut of his career is the same as a birthday. Maybe, I don't know what the rules are. We will see, hope he does though as I think its pretty significant.
