Celebrating Prince's music by playing video's on YouTube...

Damn, I miss it. I love to go on mindtrips back into the day and using the medium YouTube to OR remind people of an artist's genius OR hip youngsters to stuff I have loved for years.

Oh, all the missed opportunities of the internet Prince is not tapping into. Just have a slight site up with ALL your video's. Weren't they taped as a commercial to Prince's music/albums.
In these days of internet, Prince could sell his video's on a site and I would buy them. Having them up on YouTube would not change a thing about that.

And he could even make it hotter if he would start posting them unreleased video's. I would love to have the chance to see the video to Pussy Control again, or The Same December.

I got reminded on how much I miss watching Prince vids on Housequake when I posted a Japan thread, some other 80's heroes of mine. It is such a JOY to be able to watch that, without the thread of legal action.
I wish Prince would find a nice balance between getting his financial due and having a good relationship with his fans, beyond live shows, album releases and pillow cases.

I wish, in short, Prince would evolve into a person that would get a GREAT team behind him and give the fans something worthwhile. The Hawaii book is a great example; that was something special and good. I would love to get my hands on more such art work.

Like, get back together with Jeff Katz and Laura LiPuma and release a Sign O The Times picture book with some of the pics of those amazingly hot photo sessions, then work it into a lyric book. How cool would THAT be? I am sure there are many, many pictures from those sessions no one ever saw. You could even make that into an internet thing as well, easily.

So. Sorry for that misses opportunity, Prince. I'm sad for him he cannot handle you in the past; he was a kewl dude then. And no matter what he thought of WB later on in life; they had an amazing team that pushed him beyond his own media borders and together with his own good sense of mystique, they created some worthwhile art.

sad

True. And many others. But I wanna watch I Wish U Heaven whenever I wanna. And I am more of a web-based person than I wanna watch it on the tele off DVD.
But that's just me.

I was fantasizing about a world where Prince would post the real thing. Like the video's on NPGmc. But then KEEP them there, for eternal viewing pleasures. A new one every week. Would keep that video page busy with something new for like THREE years, if you only do the official vids for him and all related artists, longer if you take into account non-released material, like Pussy Control and live stuff.
