to be honest - almost none of his artwork really got my intention. ok, maybe SIGN 'O' THE TIMES (or in general all the work of Laura LiPuma, that was her name, not?).

EMANCIPATION- it's cheesy cheepness made the music feel cheap
CRYSTAL BALL- this was seriously the best he could do? PRINCE- my local record store always puts this cd on the "staff picks" as a joke!With that cover who can sell the music?!?!?! DIRTY MIND- the cashiers laughed at this cover when I bought it! LOVESEXY- did he want to embarass his fans when they took this to the till GRAFITTI BRIDGE-ugly! BLUE D&P- boring SYMBOL- only the gold symbol was interesting COME- dull GOLD- a cd that deserved better, like maybe a gold colored Mayte wrapped around the symbol C&D- you CAN judge a cd by it's cover RAVE- looks like a fruitcake VBOP- should have used that creepy, smoky Picture from 1999 as the cover ONLY; I used to have the poster It was cool; ONLY SIGN TRC AND PARADE ARE GOOD 2 ME | |

5.Graffiti Bridge - Ingrid's head is just floatin' there. 4.Pandemonium - I think I'm gonna hurl. 3.Symbol - Good idea with the gold symbol. Bad cover art. 2.The War - Put it in a brown paper bag. 1.New Power Soul - What is right about this cover? If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot. | |

I'd say the worst cover is New Power Soul.
I was going to also include Chaos and Disorder and The Vault, but IMO even though those aren't that great, they have a reason to be bad. From a historical aspect, they mark a protest and non-involvement, and the fact that they're sub-par is actually cool. NPS, on the other hand, was an "emancipated" release. No record-label, total creative freedom, etc. Look what happened. I think Emancipation's liner/lyric book artwork is incredible. I just wish it would have carried over onto the cover (the orange does not do the album justice). |

I just hate those collage, painted-over covers. With NPS I can understand it somewhat since it might be a bit of a wink at Parliament and Funkadelic artwork but the awfulness of Graf Bridge was truely uncalled for. Oh no!!! Graffiti Bridge uncalled for??? The cover is one of my favorites. I have the poster. Love it!!! After that: Around the World in a Day Sign 1999 (The "1999" part is on my arm 4 life) Lovesexy Parade Purple Rain that also about sums up my favorite albums -- except for Graffiti Bridge. i like The Rainbow Children artwork also but we're looking for ugliest, so... bad album covers
not rally any but... Crystal Ball - book was very dull no name of songs on back of cover either made me upset. Cool Lp though Come - Prince looked like he was on drugs seriously or very lonely, even the name of songs were...lonely. 2 much make up also. Black Album - lets not even talk about that, probably should'nt count but, maybe some gothic font would've been cool in the corner somewhee. The Around The World In A Day singles were very dull, but the fonts were REALLY REALLY NICE, all that paisley madness was nice. Straight Jacket Funk Affair
