Do you think that Prince should do a new all Dance CD?

I did this topic over at HQ and I wanted to bring it over here for the org family to hear your views of this topic I made. We all know that Prince can do a dance album if he wanted to. Some will argue and say that he already did one called 1999 but my view of an all dance album is one that doesn't have any ballads on it. The slowest song on there would be a midtempo song and even that might be too slow. So I ask all of you here, would you guys want an all dance Prince CD? Do you think he'd be chasing trends if he did one? I'll even ask this question, is Prince getting too old to do a dance album?

I would LOVE to see an all dance Prince album. I still think Prince has it in him to come up with jams for the clubs in his own unique way. If he did this, I would hope that he would come up with some new sounds, some new beats and of course, some serious, heavy-duty FUNK. Just something out of the ordinary so that it won't look like he's going back in time with his sound or trying to sound like Timbaland. Live instrumentation, electronic, I don't care, I would just love to get a Prince album that I could dance hard to from start to finish. What do you think?

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I've never realy been convinced by his forays into dance music but that might just be my dislike of the genre.

For me it was a sad, sad day when I heard the UK 12" of Gett Off for the first (and indeed last) time. hmm
if you've gotta pay for things that you've done wrong I've gotta big bill coming at the end of the day- Gil Scott Heron

i would take that or a full fledged funk album headbang he owes us one after that garbage album he put out last year nod
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

You'll be lucky if he ever puts out ANY album again, after the mauling you gave him...

In short - NO.

In long - I don't think that Prince is really about any one particular genre, he loves to dabble in a bit of whatever takes his fancy, so I don't think that he'll ever release a mainstream album in any one genre.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

When was 1999 a dance album?
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!
woot!

Maybe Prince could do both...A 2 set cd...
Side one, slow songs, called..."Midnight casuals."
Side two called, "A racing day."
