I think the chorus of that song is about a love that is (as yet) unrequited. He thinks of this woman constantly. His friends tell him he's wasting his time. But he loves thinking of her. And the daisies are her beauty and everything good about her - qualities that outshine everything else in his world, so that he's blinded to everything else.
