Janet was younger, and I realize the sexual impact these three groups carried...however, it seems that most of us grew up to be God/people loving individuals...and so did Janet. Praise the lord, right.

Well, she grew up JW which I think is more sexually repressive than most religions so that prolly had something to do with her anxiety/concern about being by her mother. I'm not knockin' JWs just saying. Even Michael says that had an impact on him being conflicted about sex, and I'm leaving THAT alone.

I was trying to be cool and calm, but oh my God, I was sweating bullets! How am I going to sit at this show and watch Vanity Six and Prince and The Time and sit next to Mother? She’s going to think, ‘Good Lord, what is my baby into? She really needs more of God in her life! Where did I go wrong?’ I could just hear Mother blaming herself for everything! Luckily, I got someone else to swap seats with me so I was able to enjoy the show and have the same great time I would’ve had if I were there without Mother.”

Kinda creepy the way she keeps referring to her moms as "Mother".

I was just thinking the same thing, I have some family relations who refer to their mothers as mother and it is odd, albeit, she did not say "the mother"

Why would Prince be jealous of the Time, since he was the one who put the group together, wrote most of the songs, played almost all the instruments on the first two allbums, told them what to wear, and probably rehearsed them for those concerts?
