and when u have heard a cd from beginning to end a hundred times...a shuffle button is a nice feature when mixing records.

It's one of my favorite songs.

Does anybody know what "I'm blinded by the daisies in your yard" means and refers to? This is something that I've always been curious about.

I have a different interpretation. I think the chorus of that song is about a love that is (as yet) unrequited. He thinks of this woman constantly. His friends tell him he's wasting his time. But he loves thinking of her. Every day is a yellow day means the thoughts are like a sunny day - they make him happy. And the daisies are her beauty and everything good about her - qualities that outshine everything else in his world, so that he's blinded to everything else.

Clara Bow, the silent screen actress' home life was full of conflict and saddness. 3. daisies are considered weeds.

Could he mean that he's unsure about what to do with this woman; he previously tried to love two others (Paris and London) and got rejected. Now he wants to love/reach out to this one who has many conflicts (daisies in her yard) but doesn't know how to or if he should because of the past exeriences with the others.???

The song is about Wendy and Susannah. Legend has it that Prince thought Wendy lookedand/or acted like Clara Bow. Have you ever seen a movie with Clara Bow? She was known as "The 'It' Girl" because of her vivacious personality. And did that woman have some hair!

The verse about "the woman from the ghetto" is about Wendy and Susannah - twins - wearing the same cologne and giggling the same giggle.

I think it's safe to say that at this stage of their relationship, Prince did not consider Susannah a "weed."
