I've been vexed by this question forever. I mean, I've watched Soul Train since day one, and while I know I haven't seen every show, I don't recall Prince ever being on the show. If he has appeared do you know when? If he hasn't appeared, do you know why?

He was on once in 1994. He did 4 songs.

Yes, he was on Soul Train. At the end of one of his songs, he did a stage dive thing into the audience and some guys caught him and held him up like he was crowd surfing!

Why do it on TV to a much larger audience and purposefully make yourself look less talented than you really are?

I've always wondered why Prince never appeared on 'Soul Train' in his early days.The Time,Vanity 6 and Sheila E. all appeared on 'Soul Train' in the early 80s but Prince never did.Perhaps he was just too shy to do the Don Cornelius interview?

Yep, he was on Soul Train Wayyy back in the day. And he was also on Wolfman Jack's Midnight Special.
