Why did he stop the Friday night parties? On Friday nights, Paisley Park used to open its doors for parties and everybody was invited. Prince used to show up about every night and walk among the crowd. At times, he'd get on stage and jam old and new stuff. Then, he went on a tour called "One night alone" and suddenly nothing. Paisley Park was just a recording studio.
What do you think happened? Would he ever do that again?

What do you think happened? Would he ever do that again? Only Prince knows, but if the spirit moves him, he might go in that direction. But he's the only one to start it up again. Yeah, the October 20, 2000, party/performance was awesome. It was my first and only time at The Park. It was just $7 entry. The party included a 70-minute performance and 45 minutes was an acid-jazz fusion of The Ride. Prince played with four guitars.

february 1998 was my first time 2 paisley and i had plans with a few friends 2 go c Greazy Meal at Cabooze. that is until i called a friend in town who in4med me that prince was playing at paisley that night. NO ADMISSION that night and he jammed 4 2 hours including getting on the drums that night. during one of his guitar solos he kept on landing on his ass then jumping right back up and not missing a beat on that guitar..shit was HOT!!! man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Tell me about it. June 200, 1st celebration was my first and most memorable experience. I was informed that same week, parties were taking place every friday night for a few years already. I never missed one night and then no more.

He doesn't repeat himself very often, so I wouldn't expect him to ever put on the Paisley late nite parties anytime soon. I have to say, I was very spoiled back the early to mid 90's. I saw him perform about 35 times between Glam Slam and Paisley Park and each show truly amazing. It was a good time to be a fan for all of us who attended.
