Hi everyone! It's lovely to read a list of tracks that get smiling and bopping your just by reading their titles!
Now I don't want to put a bit of a downer on everything as the theme is aimed towards identifying with Prince's fun side....but...,there is a commonly used phrase especially of here in planet pop U.K. called "Bubblegum Pop!" Bubblegum Pop is used to describe music that is deliberately produced pop that's so catchy and fresh, it's like Wow and everyone buys it instantly! However the same track has also been cleverly produced that in just a few weeks of listening, it has become annoying or you're bored of hearing it! It follows the same set of rules that applies to bubblegum. When you first put it in your mouth its the best part! All full of flavour and then soft and juicy! but just like listening to the song, the more you chew, the tougher it gets and the flavour is gone.! Ultimately it just gets spit out! Life's a Parade! I don't think that its about being more critical in the U.K. but there definitely seems to be a need to categorise and label everything, and unfortunately IMO, the U.K.'s music chart is full cheesy cr@p that inevitably got collectively labelled 'Bubblegum Pop!'
