Why Cant Prince See You Tube are Free Advertising? If you take this scenario. After I saw the performance at the Brits I went on You Tube and looked up live performances and videos. After seeing these I ended up buying One Nite Alone online and saw him at the O2 3 times with 3 different girls who had no Prince Albumns in thier collections. This type of situation gains more fans and revenue than it loses surely???

Maybe sometimes money doesn't matter. Maybe what a corporate business decides to sell, is a responsible decision on behalf of the company.
For example....How many plastic stupid toys does the Earth need as clutter, (clutta clutta clutta) when McDonalds could put a coupon in their kid's meals, and some of the China plastic could be plastic storage boxes for deliveries to other countries, filled with supplies they need. And how many unnecessary cd's that go into print, and their recycling is necessary, but no-one does it. I'm all 4 toys, but we have too many, and the old ones need to be gathered and recycled, down to the last pen cap. And Spiritual food in music we need...fun music we need....But People mixing Prince's stuff on their own and redistributing it, could damage a message. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

The more I think about that, a bag of carrots or celery in McDonald's Kid's meals would help the farmer's...You can't be an egomaniac, when your focus is on how the world could help it's children. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

And old control freak .... Youth is wasted on the young .....

maybe because he's been bootlegged so badly he just developed a bad attitude towards anything he did not authorize.
doesn't excuse some of the actions by the way, i'm just saying..... [Edited 2/1/08 8:58am]

egomaniac. 2 words control.....freak man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Because noone on Youtube buys a damn thing. The biggest music video in the history of Youtube is O.K. Go's "Here it Goes Again". 29 Million people have seen this thing, and the band is pretty much in the same postition there were in 2 years ago. You'd think that with that many people watching your video, you'd be the biggest band in the world.
O.K. Go probably went from playing small clubs, to playing slightly larger clubs. Noone has ever went out and bought an album because of what they saw for free on Youtube. I've seen lots of positive feedback from Prince's performance of "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". I can promise you that out of 200 comments, nobody who saw that video went out and bought a Prince CD because of what they saw. Maybe 2 or 3 download "When Doves Cry". The rest move on and watch another reaction video of 2 Girls 1 Cup. JERKIN' EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!!!!!

"
Because noone on Youtube buys a damn thing" Exactly, Prince does not need the advertising he is not a new act and having people looking and listening for free is not going to move CD out of the stores or sell more concert tickets. Besides he or Universal seemed to have stopped the yanking of videos as I found plenty on the site latley. ----- Paris9748430 said: Because noone on Youtube buys a damn thing.
