The guy owns a studio, is said to have thousands of unreleased songs, and can't push anything out but mediocre bits every 2-4 years? I have one word to perfectly describe Prince lately: Boring.

I think it's hard for ANY artist to make great music as long as Prince has been doing it. How many times can a person reinvent the wheel throught their life?

Did you hear the shit that Dylan, Neil Young, and Stevie put out in the '80s? There's a reason why they don't put out albums as frequently as they used to.

As far as him possibly releasing music from his vault. You know as well as I do that people would come here saying that Prince can't write good songs anymore. That's why he's releasing stuff from the vault. I can see the forum postings now.

I think that instead of putting out an album once a year. He should put out an album every 2 years. Maybe then, people will like the songs better.

Reinvent the wheel? That seems to be Prince's problem, he can't reproduce anything anyone digs more than a couple albums. Look, the Stones are still making cool shit and its not too different from their "sound." Prince had a
"sound" or a couple. One was funk, one was rock, and they always had hooks and ingenuity. Since the 90s its been all about finding GOD and a WOMAN. Little man needs to find his voice again.

Yet he probably has much better works... unreleased and sitting around on a shelf. Perhaps he needs a producer. I'm avaliable haha. Of Course, I'd just pick something that sounds like something off Controversy or ATWIAD, so that would be a dud.

I am sure that Inspiration and playing come easy for Prince. Perhaps the business of going through recording and distributing, becomes tiring...especially after consecutively doing it for thirty years.

I think the problem is its not up to us 2 decide what he relases and what hes not 2(and never will thank god) i geniunley love all Princes albums(well the 27 i own and hav heard ) its up 2 the artist what he wants 2 release and u always get people saying about great musicians that hav bin around 4 a long"well its now where near as good as there old stuff' i enjoy all of Princes music i even loved Planet Earth,I think the problem with People is they dont like 2 see there fav artists evolve or change musicaly.I know his music has changed since he went into a J.W with lyrics less Dirty etc yadda yadda and 2 be honest i dont think many musicians(even P) can make new sounds or do something new,simply beacause theres so much out there now it seems to be getting harder,also new artists and music 2day(well mostly) is as about as intresting to me as yesterdays shit! Im sure that P could do another album thats Rock orientated like Purple Rain but we forget hes bin there and got the t-shirt.Lastly if all them legends that hav bin around 25+ and P are happy doing the music THEY want to do then frankly so am I .because they hav worked hard for many years and they deserve 2 do what they want 2 do,not what WE want them to do also even if the next was a great album 90% of people would still moan cause its in are nature to find flaws.especially for an artist who has bin around as long as P - thank you - peace
