In Somewhere Here on Earth Prince sings to someone who he loves and dreams about. The beautiful lyrics have made me wonder why Prince didn't just go and tell her that he loved her. He admits he's really 'too shy to speak' and 'alone.' And then he says he knows that she really wants him, so chances are that she really loves him too
Maybe things have changed, and he's no longer 'free', but at least at the time he wrote this he was. He asks what she's waiting for. What if she didn't have a way to reach him due to monetary issues or was unable to get past sercurity? Or do you think this was someone close enough that she would have the connections and resources to get a call through? What would prevent Prince from just reaching out to the one he loves and wants to be with?
