2 my fellow Purple Hippies(sorry 4 my vs threads) i hav had a few messages of ppl complaining about the vs threads unfortunatley i dont know how 2 delete them. i take 4 full responsibilty 4 my actions  (well not all) and im sorry if i upset ppl by doing vs threads.im sorry that there are sum pricks on here who go out of there way 2 send me nasty messages ova a a bunch of threads,when it would be easier 2 ignore them and not make a point of sending me a orgnote and bein mean about it  after all it cost nothing 2 be nice,however all those that did reply 2 the vs thanks you very much  also ive just looked at my org and hadnt noticed i had done 9  but im 2 half the time 2 notice(time flys when ur havin fun  ) and sorry if i hav upset any1 and ull see no more vs threads(well not from me anyway ) peace guys and stay

Well, it's sad when people send nasty messages; I've tried to do a silly/funny complaint to the VS threads (in general, not only the optimus ones) with the PP vs PP brainless thread, but I truly cannot understand why some people here prefer being downright nasty... [Edited 1/22/08 7:49am]  | |

Sorry to hear that you actually got orgnoted about them. Like you said, people can see your name to it and what it's about so they don't need to click on it.
Personally, I wasn't seeing it as a versus thing - more of a preference thing, and with you being alot younger and a new fan to Prince (and me being a fan for 20+ years) it was a chance to offer you personally an opinion that has been developed over many years of listening. Its nice to experience your excitement as a new fan and seeing you overwhelmed by the sheer back catalogue you so intend to familiarise yourself. You and Fun and James (and a few other new faces) have brought a welcome fresh point of view to alot of the boring monotonous and stale points of view that repeatedly haunt this site. I don't see what the big deal is, people start threads usually for fun or to stimulate conversation or because they wanna know what people think about something (i.e. if this album is funkier than that album). If people don't like it, no-one is forcing them to reply, and they sure ain't forcing them to send you hate messages. People need to get a life.
I like a good serious Prince conversation as much as the next fam, but it would be a sorry day to come on here and see no idle banter or fun threads because I like them too, equally! Optimus, you have nothing to be sorry for! Sounds like a real man to me...mind if I turn on the radio? | |

I'm sorry but i'd rather talk about the origin of the song, what it's about, interesting facts and trivia, when it was recorded, different versions that exist etc. and I'd even keep that 2 a minimum, I wouldn't go posting threads every time I check the org. I just think we should keep our threads 4 the important/interesting stuff, not silly "which is better?" threads that people make up to piss away the time until the next album drops. U should have let me down easy,

That's Cool I just think which song is better? type threads r a waste of time, people might agree with u, others won't, but what difference is it gonna make?
