Prince VS. MJ in front of James Brown A couple days ago I saw the concert where James Brown invites Michael JAckson onstage and shortly thereafter Prince. I don't really understand why people think that Prince embarrassed himself. While Michael did a good James Brown dance he mostly just giigled and blew kisses at people. Hell, Prince acted like classic 1983 Prince and in 5 smooth steps he stole the show.
1. Prince rides up piggy back on Chick, & before getting onstage, he takes off his gloves and throws them into the audience. 2. Prince gets onstage borrows a guitar and procedes to play/hump the guitar. 3. Prince strips off his top (which drives the crowd to cheers) and twirls the mic stand around. 4. Prince screeches into the mic 5. Prince hold up two fingers and takes over James Brown's band. Prince actually single handedly whoops MJ's ass and steals the crown from James. "New Power slide...." |

Reminds me of why it was embarassing to be a Prince fan back then. But the music was ALL good, and I'm now proud to say I stood my ground.
What Prince should've done that night: pick up a lead guitar and jam (with no weird egotistic over-dramatic pauses), dance some more (the mic trick was cool tho), and actually sing not screech. | |

The whole thing is just fucking hilarious I reckon.
What isnt mentioned above is Prince knocking over this huge stage prop on his way off the stage...lol. It is one classic piece of film but I dont think it's one that Prince will be showing his grandkids. When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading. | |

so not true Skywalker,MJ left the crowd wanting more, he did his thing and got the hell off he was utterly perfect/proffesional,Prince overcooked it,looked out of place and uncomfortable,he ended up outstaying his welcome IMO. I think it was a cool performance by ALL involved.Don't treat it as a "competition" among rivals or anything.It's just Michael Jackson and Prince appearing onstage with their idol,nothing more,nothing less. | |

I saw this for the first time yesterday and as much as I value Prince more than Michael J I think MJ comes off better.
In just a few seconds on stage MJ showed his fantastic live voice and footwork, whereas P overcooks it. The part where P throws his glove into the crowd and someone throws it back at him cracks me up. Anyway, I don't take it too seriously, it's only a bit of fun, isn't it? | |

I downloaded it from Kazaa, which costs nothing. Just load up Kazaa and type Prince, Jackson, Brown into search. Might take a while to load. | |
