LOVE SONGS THAT IS!!!!!

There is no denying how different we all feel on what we think are Princes strongest/weakest albums, or his strongest/weekest period, and every so often we have the old school '80's fans vs the new breed '90's!!!!!

But for me, one area of Princes music that stays consistent regardless of what year it is, are his balads!!!!

Now I know they may not all be your favourites but for me, I'm a sucker for a love song and there isn't one song on this list I don't like!!!

What I do know is that use this list as the soundtrack for when you are 'doing the do' and the 'do' and the songs will mean a whole lot more!!!

And damn! some of the lyrics in these songs are so fierce, I wouldn't be surprised if there were girls that got pregnant just from listening to them!!!

You know I'm a sucker for a love song too so couldn't resist commenting on your thread. Prince has written some of the most beautiful lyrics on any ballad I've ever heard.

International Lover is great, and of course Do Me Baby stands out from the crowd!!

Love songs I love of course, but Prince's ability to tell a story such as, "The Rainbow Children" is also a ballad.
A ballad does not have to be a slow song, and it is usually sentimental....

Anyway....Put anything in there by Prince, and I will most likely agree.

Congrats on your first thread! Don't stop here either. Writing ballads is just one of his many gifts. He's probably as gifted writing ballads as anyone who has ever lived. That really is amazing because its just one gift. Lot's of writers would kill just to do that so well.

Great 1st thread.I've been listening to One Kiss At A Time alot lately. He does'nt just sing his ballads, he puts his heart and soul in them.

nice thread! u pretty much covered on tht list..i would prob add 'nothing compares 2 u & pink cash. oh & 'when we're dancing close & slow' heyyy!
his slowies...he's got such a beautiful tone in his voice & some have left me giggling & open mouthed on hearing them 4 first time.

Is it agreed though, that the quality of his balads and love songs has been consistent, even though it seems that the quality of his music and albums in general have not?

the bit you put at the start of the thread mentalist about girls getting pregnant by just listening to it made me laugh! If that was true his performance on 6th Sept at the O2 of The Beautiful Ones would have made me come out expecting not one but triplets it was out of this world, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck. My main love in a song is when the artist wrote the lyrics and sing it like they meant it. He did that and more that night and always does with his songs.
